Function: Under general supervision, this position supports the Homeownership Center Director with particular focus on Down Payment Assistance Program delivery and other homeownership center program activities

Neighborhood Housing Services Oklahoma is a Community Housing Development Organization for both the City of Oklahoma and the State of Oklahoma (Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency-OHFA) dedicated to providing affordable home ownership opportunities and revitalizing neighborhoods in the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Service Area (MSA). NHSOKLA has a 40 year record of improving communities and is a charter member of NeighborWorks America®.
This position will provide support to the Homeownership Center line of business. Work involves managing multiple tasks involving the general public, lenders, DPA funding providers such as the City of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the City of Moore, Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) HUD and NeighborWorks® America.
-Meeting with NHSOKLA Down Payment Assistance applicants
-Gathering and ensuring completion and accuracy, for all required documents for the
specific DPA program
-Work with Lenders, Realtors and Title Companies, ensuring all required documentation
is received in a timely manner
-Calculate household income, and housing ratios ensuring information is within DPA
-Preparing loan closing documents
-Completing all needed steps in current software system(s)
-Preparing other reports deemed necessary by Homeownership Center Director.
-Responsible for file closeout and monthly billing
-Assisting with phone coverage/front desk, directing calls to the appropriate department and answering general questions
-Complete a wide range of clerical duties which includes supporting the efforts of the
Homeownership Center and the overall NHSOKLA departments as needed.
-Assisting with file entry and processing of client files in current software system(s),
ensuring file information is submitted to appropriate parties (loan servicers, etc.).
-Provide triage services to Homeownership Center clients and scheduling appointments and translation services when needed
-Participation in outreach events of NHSOKLA and assisting in the preparation of
-Support homebuyer education when needed, coordinating presenters, preparing
workshop materials and attending workshops
Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Qualified applicants must have at least three years of experience in the following:
• Knowledge of government organization and administration; of principles and
practices of public administration and management of state and federal laws and
regulations relevant to affordable housing development.
• Knowledge of real estate, mortgage financing and development process.
• Knowledge of HUD programs in general
• Ability to gather, assemble, correlate and analyze facts; to devise solutions to
problems and to prepare concise reports.
• Should have significant project management experience over activities with
evolving requirements and deadlines.
• Must have the ability to establish effective working relationships with supervisors,
co-workers and the public.
• Must demonstrate skills in research, data interpretation, and report writing;
should be well skilled in delivering presentations and in the area of making visual
representations of data in the form of maps, charts, tables and diagrams.
• Must have extensive facility with personal computers and applications such as
Word, Excel and Access.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
