Neighborhood Housing Services Oklahoma Announces New Board Members

Neighborhood Housing Services Oklahoma (NHSOKLA) announces the appointment of Gabriela Chavez and Latonia Moore-Galberth to the Board of Directors.

Neighborhood Housing Services Oklahoma is a community development housing agency that is the trusted resource for homeownership education, housing counseling, foreclosure prevention, and access to affordable housing in Oklahoma. NHSOKLA also partners with organizations committed to providing affordable housing to create a positive impact in the local community.

Ms. Chavez is a bilingual realtor with Berkshire Hathaway and has a heart to help as many individuals as possible become homeowners.  She also serves others through several nonprofit organizations and ministries.

Ms. Moore-Galberth is an Oklahoma City Public Schools teacher and touches hundreds of lives each day. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Oral Roberts University and a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.

“Our new board members bring a wealth of experience.  We are looking forward to engaging them in the process reaching more people in our community and creating new homeowners,” said Roland Chupik, NHSOKLA Executive Director.

To address the lack of affordable housing in Oklahoma over the past five years, NHSOKLA has administered nearly $4.5 million in down payment assistance; created more than 450 new homeowners; assisted more than 150 clients in avoiding foreclosure and mortgage default; and educated more than 2,200 clients through its homebuyer education program.
