For Immediate Release

Oklahoma City, OK – Today marks a significant milestone in the evolution of our community as we announce the establishment of the Oklahoma Community Land Consortium. This pioneering initiative is poised to redefine the landscape of community development and affordable housing solutions in our region.

The Oklahoma Community Land Consortium (OKCLC) is a non-profit organization operating as a community land trust that emerges as a collaborative effort between passionate advocates, local stakeholders, and dedicated citizens committed to fostering sustainable, inclusive, and equitable growth within our communities. At its core, the organization embodies the principles of shared ownership, democratic governance, and long-term stewardship of land and housing assets for the collective benefit of current and future generations.

With a mission to preserve affordability, promote equitable access to housing, and cultivate vibrant neighborhoods, the Oklahoma Community Land Consortium empowers residents to take control of their housing destiny. By creating perpetually affordable housing, the CLT ensures that housing remains permanently affordable, safeguarding against the forces of gentrification and displacement.

Furthermore, the Oklahoma Community Land Consortium is more than just a housing provider; it is a catalyst for community empowerment and economic resilience. Through innovative partnerships, educational programs, and participatory decision-making processes, the organization will empower residents to shape the future of their neighborhoods, fostering a sense of belonging and collective ownership.

“As we embark on this journey, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of those who have contributed their time, expertise, and passion to bring the Oklahoma Community Land Consortium to fruition,” said Katrina Washington, OKCLC Executive Director.  “Together, we are chartering a new course towards a more just, inclusive, and sustainable future for all members of our community.”
